Vintage Gramophone Wire and Cloth Doll

This very unique doll was used in the 1930's in Germany to decorate the Gramophone.

Size: She is 8 Inches Tall plus 1 Inch for the stand x 4 Inches Wide.

Material: what appears to be silk thread and cloth over wire. Her features I think are painted.

Condition: good condition for her age.

Weight: 2 Oz's.

She is in shades of green & lavender and is holding a staff or cane in one hand and a bouquet of flowers in the other. There is a hand crochet French Beret and vest.

I have only seen her like in a book on dolls and puppets through the ages.  

Vintage Toy Wooden Stick Push Up Figure - Uncle Sam

Painted wooden face, cloth body, hat and hands. The figure is attached to a cardboard cone. When the stick is push up the doll comes out of the cone to greet you with arms wide open. When the stick is pulled down the doll disappears into the cone.

All Cloth Boudoir - Bed Doll

Size: 35 Inches Tall

Condition: Good - She does have a bit of light soil on her shoes. There is also two small spots on the back of one of her knickers. Her dress is in a Victorian Style w/lace and lace edged knickers. High Shoes with no buttons adorn her feet. Her face is lovely with little sparkles accenting her eyelids and cheeks. She has a delightful cloth bun to finish off her hair.

Weight: 14 Oz's.

Wood Stick Push Up Doll

Size: Open: 15 H x 8 W
Closed 17½ H

Condition: Good

Wood face, cloth body, hat, hands.

All attached to a cardboard cone. When the stick is pulled the doll disappears. When the stick is pushed up out he comes and greets you with arms wide open.

Hand-Made, Hand-Painted Doll
From Kondapalli In The Southern State of Andhra Pradesh In India

These type of dolls are hand-crafted from terra cotta and baked in a clay oven. Then they are painted in bright colors. This particular type of doll is a favorite throughout India - made of 4 separate parts, each part moves when you tap it. She dances for you! A very simple mechanism accomplishes this - each part is hollow inside, and rests on the next part via a bent wire post. The doll's movement - which simulates traditional Indian classical dance.

Size: 10 H x 4 W x 4¾ D

Condition: Very good

Weight: Approx. 8 Oz.

There are four pieces. The fourth piece is a metal ring - I have no idea where it goes. The doll dances with the head,body and torso placed on the bent wire in each piece.

 

Victorian Porcelain Decorative Figure/Doll

Size: 8 Inches H.

Condition: Very Good with the exception of two small rust colored dots in the fold of her dress.

Age: 20th Century

Weight: 4 Oz's.

This lovely doll has a porcelain face, hands & feet. Her face is delicately painted with beautiful features. The body is a soft body -but she will not sit. The hair is made of yarn and a cap like top. She does need her hat for a finished look. The costume is a yellow cotton with a lavender shaw. The bottom is edged with lace as are the end of her sleeves and shaw. The back of her costume has velcro closing. The hat is attached by an elastic thread.

Crafted of fabric, hand-dyed filled with beans. Hands, feet & head carved of wood. The beautifully hand painted tattooed face is colored with a design depicted on one side of the face and the top and back of head. The doll is dressed in a handsome multi-colored hand loomed batik Ikat cloth. You can position the doll in numerous ways and it holds many resting positions.

Condition: good - condition issues: toes on left foot sheared off and little toe on right foot sheared off. Small indent on right cheek - All thought to production flaws.

Condition: very good. No chips, cracks or crazing

Vintage Ceramic Lady's Full Doll's Head w/Shoulder Plate

Size: 3½ H x 3 3/8 W (at the base) x 2½ D

Condition: good . There are no chips or cracks. There is quite a bit of crazing. The surface is smooth.

These delightful folk art figures originate from the New England States. Possibly meant as dolls.
