Very finely detailed cottonwood carving of a Shalako & a Mudhead Kachina. Signed and titled by the artist. The artist was brilliant using the natural curves and shapes of the cottonwood root to help form the body of the Shalako & Mudhead Kachina. They are full of hand etched fine line & carved details with hand painted traditional designs. Size: 9 Inches Wide x 7 Inches T x 3 Inches W at the base. Condition: Very Good. Weight: 3 oz. We are not sure which tribe this artist belongs to. Probably one in the Southwest. Age: Late 20th Century

There are blue, red, black & silver pigments. Her wooden image has been carved to show her wearing a buckskin dress, moccasins bead work and jewelry, which are all of the same wood as the figure. MIXED MEDIA WOOD CARVING - NATIVE AMERICAN. Strong wood carving of Native American Male with Hat, Braids & Loose Hair. Hat is made out of some type of fur while the braids and hair are of horse hair. Size: Wood Head is 12-3/4 Inches H x 3-1/2 Inches W x 3-1/4 Inches D. The back of the carving is a smooth plain wood. The total length of the piece is 35 Inches Long. Weight: 4-1/2 lbs. Condition: Very Good. There is a metal loop on the back for hanging. Found in Southern Montana No markings or signature.

Many features are shared by the Hydia and their mainland neighbors, the Tlingit. This Plaque is a very strong design and is signed on the back: David M. Aquino, dated 10-1-96. Size:Approx. 20-3/4 Inches W x 9-1/2 Inches W x 2 Inches D Condition: Very Good. Wood: I believe it is probably pine driftwood. There is a wire on the back for hanging.

SPIRIT - NORTHWESTERN DEER BONE SCULPTURE/WITH WOOD BASE. Signed. Size: Approx: 18-3/4 Inches H/with base x 10 Inches W/with base x 4-1/2 Inches D/with base. Conditiion: Very Good. The sculpture is composed of 3 pieces Deer Bone. The head, upper body & lower body. The Feet are glued into the wooden base. The body is also glued at the waist. The head is held to the upper body by a wire or small metal rod. This piece gives a feeling of a free & exuberant Spirit. The bottom of the base is carved a signature of LBR and a number 1471. Found at the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana.

INDIAN CHIEF PAINTING WITH HEADDRESS ON GOLD COLORED LEAF - FRAMED & UNDERGLASS. Size: Frame: 12-1/2 x 11. Painting:9-3/4 x 7-1/2. Condition: Very Good. There are a few nicks on the frame - this could be because the wood is slightly distressed. Age: Undetermined Found in Southern Montana. The painting is unsigned. The profile of the Chief's head is very dramatically done in black on a gold leaf background. The wooden frame has a grained look of gold & black. Back is cardboard and held in by small nails. A string has been added for hanging and is held by tacks.
