Western Folk Art - Mounted Antlers On Wooden Head

Please note that the antlers are shed annually by the animal. This piece was found in rural Montana.

Size: Antlers: 10 Inches Long. Total measurements of the piece: Approx. 15-1/4 Inches H x 12 Inches W x 7-1/2 Inches D.

Condition: Very Good. The wood has a few dark lines across the front, which is either natural or made during the finishing of the head. The left antler moves a bit when wiggled. This is not loose so that it will come out, it just wasn't fastend so that is wouldn't move. It is stable and will not come out. The back has a metal piece for hanging. A real touch of the West. A hand-made piece of folk art.

Stetson Beaded Hatband

Size: 20-1/2 Inches L. The beaded part that surrounds the hat is approx. 22 inches.

Condition: Very Good. There are leather portions at the top of the silver toned-metal decorative pieces above the horsehair. There is also a metal silver-toned piece at the end of the braided horehair.

FOLK ART ELK BONE FIGURAL CARVING - SIGNED

This very special piece is a hand-carved figure of a Mountain Man. The details of the face are very finely done.

IRON CUT OUT OF COWBOY WITH PIPE

Size: 12-1/2 Inches T x 7-1/2 Inches W x 3 Inches D at the base

The front of the piece is painted with very nice detail and has a cactus design painted on the body. The back is painted black without and design. Please note that the metal base is not the color pink as in the photo - it is closer to the color of the body of the piece.

Vintage Western Glass Bottle Whimsey

This is a well constructed bottle Whimsey made in a Half Pint Clear Glass Bottle. The bottle has flat sides and the top is sealed with a hand carved wooden stopper. The stopper has been carved with a cross shape to keep the bottle from being opened.

Size: 7-3/4 Inches Tall x 3 Inches Wide x 1-1/2 Inches Deep

The Whimsey fills the bottle with a saw made of wood and metal. Imprinted by hand in ink or pencil are the notations of TEMP - 30 - MARCH -21 - 1976 - HELENA - MONT on one side of the Whimsy and on the other side - TEMP - 30 - SAMBO - THE - HOBO - HELENA - MONT There is a loose penny at the bottom of the bottle. The bottle itself is imprinted HALF PINT on the lower portion of one of the flat sides and on the bottom of the bottle is imprinted LIQUOR BOTTLE and some numbers. The imprints are from the manufacturer of the bottle and not part of the Whimsy or not made by whoever constructed the Whimsey.

I would venture to guess this is a one of a kind type of Whimsey. Found in the rural Montana.

The Alamo - Vintage Souvenir

Size: 3-3/4 Inches Across 3-3/8 Inches H

Scene of The Alamo on an oval shaped piece of Agate. Very nicely done with a finely cut-out picture of the Alamo which appears to have been decoupaged on the Agate. The wavy band on the right side of the Agate, which travels down to the bottom is a natural coloration of the stone.

Condition: There are a few slight scratches on the picture of the Alamo. This is hardly noticeable when the back in not placed in the light. The back has a plastic easel for standing.

EARLY 20TH CENTURY BLACK & WHITE PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN - OR EARLIER - I was informed this was done in charcoal? The portrait is done on cardboard and has some minor scratches. One on the lower left side and another in the upper right corner. The frame is old and nicked. It also is slightly warped. Size: with frame: 11 Inches x 9 Inches. Orgin: Western United State. I think she is just wonderful. A true portrait of a woman who helped form the Western United States through hard work and perseverance. A great piece of folk art.
