The blade has a simple incised design with additional cut out design. Size:Overall length is 10½ long the handle is 1¼ at the widest part. Good condition with nice patina There are a few discolorations from oxidation. Weight: 5 oz. Thought to be Meiji period of Japan's history (1868-1912) There are no maker's marks Wonderful as a desk top item or as a display piece on a table or in a cabinet.

ART NOUVEAU METAL FIGURAL LETTER OPENER.
Size: 10-1/2 Inches in Length x 2 Inches W at the Hilt. A wonderful Dagger Form with lots of character and a lovely lady's face with flowing hair on both sides of the letter opener. Condition: Good. Nice patination. There are worn spots & small scratches on the metal. The letter opener has had plenty of wear and looks its age. The handle is cast at a jaunty angel. This is the way it was made. I have another identical piece which was made the same way. The metal is probably spelter with a brass finish.
