Art Nouveau Style Figural Pin - Signed JJ

Highly detailed Art Nouveau Style Brooch with nicely cut oval amethyst glass stones on either side of a lovely lady in relief. She is surrounded by silver colored flowers and part of her flowing draped gown. The background is suggestive of an arbor.

Size: Good Size Pin 2-5/8 Inches L x 2-1/2 Inches with drop. Drop is 3/4 of an Inch L and each cabochon cut stone is 3/8 of an Inch W. The Center figure is 1-1/2 Inches H x 1-1/2 Inches W.

Materials: My best guess is as follows: I believe the pin itself is made of cast brass. The two oval colored stones are glass. The drop is celluloid and is held by a gold toned metal cap & link.

Condition: Very good. The back has a safety clasp & the initials.

Sun God Pin - Jewelry Designer Tabra

Suspended from the face is the Hand of Fatima along with other protective treasures she has gathered from around the world and assembled.

Purchased in the early 1990's.

TABRA is a Calif. jewelry artist who uses many unusual semi-precious stones, carved bone and hand-made charms. She is an internationally known artist, Tabra, a leader in the Contemporary Ethnic style of Gypsy Jewelry, studied Mayan and Aztec art at the University of Mexico City and San Jose, Costa Rica as well as jewelry design at the Masana Art Institute in Barcelona, Spain in the 60's and 70’s.
