Here's a stunning portrayal of Elvis in his December 1968 live show comeback, closing a decade devoted to the movies, right from his sideburns to his skin tight leather. The handle illustrates many of the highlights of this era, including westerns, the boxing in 'Kid Galahad', and the gaming chips of Las Vegas. The superbly designed Elvis character jug is hand made and hand decorated, and offered in a limited edition of 2,000 by Royal Doulton.
In this masterly design the depiction of a youthful Elvis is remarkable enough - yet it is well complemented by a wealth of period detail from the life of 'The King of Rock'n'Roll' on the handle itself.
Facing you, the handle is crowned by a hat typical of his many western movies, including the classics 'Flaming Star' and 'Charro', followed through with a reel of colour film. Forming the base on both sides is a pair of gambling chips from his 'second home', Las Vegas: he acted as a gambling racing driver in the hit film 'Viva Las Vegas'.
The back of the exclusive Royal Doulton design pursues a sporting theme, paying homage to the American Football sequence in 'Trouble with Girls', as well as Elvis doing his own fight sequences in 'Kid Galahad'. New and mint in original box. Fantastic. Hurry. Item Number: v19643a-1157160691
