| A DROPDEAD ELEGANT furclip from the 40s--I can just see this, in its heyday, nestled in a silver fox stole. It's a VERY luxurious piece of jewelry, substantial, HEAVY. The faux pearls are a luscious gray-beige. There is wear where pearl meets pearl--they are wired on the piece and over the years have rubbed. A few of the pave stones have gotten dingy with time and I see a couple missing. Not to say the piece has been abused--I'd consider this normal wear and it's totally UNobtrusive. The piece is 2.5" in diameter, and a full inch THICK. Signed 'Eisenburg' in deep dots (see scan)on the edge, STERLING on the clip, and W--which I believe was the stone-setter's mark--in the middle. The clip is a double pronged job with a very secure clasp arrangement. NOTE that this is a RARE piece...I've not see another. |
