| We've all seen the elegant evening bags from the 50s with this style of chunky gold and silver embroidery on black velvet. This fitted vanity case features the same bullion work on fine black SUEDE. The small purse (like a giant compact) measures just 4.5" x 3 x 1" and hangs from a 6" heavy mesh loop wriststrap. It's fitted inside with a swivel-out lipstick case, a velour-lined silk pouch (for your theater ticket???) with its original tiny "tortoise" comb, a compartment for loose powder with its original puff; to the left a hinged silver/polished stainless mirror covers another compartment for cigarettes. On the mirror, a transparent cello label: "A Dorette Creation". Further, this stupendous vanity bag has NEVER BEEN CARRIED, and is in MINT CONDITION. I am showing 3 scans of this item--a closeup of the embroidered front (the back is plain black suede), a BAD scan of the interior but hope you can make out some detail, and a view of the bag including handle for scale. I just cannot RAVE enough about the PRISTINE CONDITION on this fabulous vanity purse. |
