Ginger jar (Japanese cloisonné on porcelain, also known as "Totai"). Hard to find cloisonne-on-satsuma ginger jar with a deep maroon background. It is most unusual to find this type closionné, especially in this color! There is some fine crazing and a few very small and barely visible nicks in the enamel, which is typical of old ceramic cloisonné and not objectionable.
