Royal Doulton Gibson girl plate with a black transfer of a Charles Gibson etching entitled: "Some think that she has remained in retirement too long . other are surprised that she is about so soon". Has the Royal Doulton blue underglaze mark and an impressed mark. Circa 1900. Diameter: 10 ½". These plates are hard to find, especially in such excellent condition.
