Antique epergne with 3 glass trumpet flowers (vases) that extend from a decorative (engraved) metal plate. The ruffled base (bowl) is opalescent with green trim. All of the vases fit nicely into the metal plate which screws into the ruffled glass base. The long central vase screws into the plate and the shorter vases have metal fittings that slide into the plate. This arrangement is typical of older epergnes. Condition is very good; I can find only one small area on one of the vases, where the applied rigaree begins, that seems to have some very minor damage. This was not seen when purchased and is mentioned now only to be precise. Diameter of bowl is ~10½”; height of bowl itself is 2½”; height to the top of the central trumpet flower vase is 18”. The glass of this central vase appears to be slightly different than that in the smaller two vases, which suggests it may not be original to the piece. I am not sure of this however, since it was purchased from an elderly woman, who said she had it forever; I do not know the long history of this piece!
