Manufacturer: Royal Doulton
Most unusual Doulton Motto jug. One side depicts an indian chief in full attire and the other side says: "Never any deed of daring But himself had done a bolder", which is a quote from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's "The Song of Hiawatha". There is a 1 ½" band along the top outer edge with several teepees and clouds. The inner edge has a similar decoration. Has some overall crazing and is marked on the base with the Doulton lion over crown mark and Royal Doulton England. Height: ~5¾".
