This most unusual pair of vases has complimentary intricately carved flowers, leaves and stems decorating their fronts and a bit simpler carved decoration on their backs (see photos). One of the lids had a floral decoration and the other is decorated with a carved bird. The colors on both Chinese soapstone vases and lids are rich shades of rust, beige and black. Each vase is ~ 6¾" in height and is attached to a carved soapstone base, which is 1½" in height. The total height of each piece, with lids in place is, ~11¼". Their condition is very good, with only one barely visible small area on the edge (mainly underside) of one of the lids. $695pr.
