12011

This is a magnificent and rare pair of Sevres cabinet cups and saucers dating the First Empire 1804-1809. The cups have fancy dolphin handles and three dolphin feet. They measure 2 1/3" x 3"' the saucers are 5 1/4".

Both cups and saucers have very unusual decoration with molded gold stars and bugs. There is Napoleon's royal crest on the side of each cup. The front of one cup has a hand-painted molded portait of Napoleon,; the other has Josephine. The Josephine set is in excellent condition. Unfortunately the Napoleon cup has a crack down the side. It is hard to see. We tried to photograph it. It still displays beatuifully, and we thought it would be a shame to break up the pairt.
