This is an exceptionally fine hand-painted French majolica or faience charger. It dates 1890s and is artist signed Dannus. The charger is unmarked on the back.
The piece is 14 1/2" wide and portrays a young wioman in a lovely costume and cap. She has a well-painted, delicate face with haunting eyes. Excellent condition.
