This exquisite Royal Worcester cabinet set dates c. 1929. The saucer is artist signed E. Phillips. Ernest John Phillips (1890-1932) was an outstanding flower painter for Royal Worcester. He had a brilliant sense of color and accuracy and was a horticulturist in his spare time.
The cup is 2 1/8" x 2"; the saucer 4 1/4". The set is red with lavish gold decoration. Phiillips painted two cartouches of flowers on the cup and one on the saucer well. Excellent condition. |
