Manufacturer: Sevres Style
This is a lovely Sevres style portrait cup and saucer made by a Paris decorator for the American Market. It is signed S. A. Harrison Co. of Philadelphia. We believe this company was in business from 1835-1845. The cup has a light blue and gold ring handle and measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" the saucer is 4 7/8". The cup has a hand-painted portrait of a French lady from the Court of Louis Phillipe. The saucer has two cartouches of hand-painted flowers framed by gilt. the ground is a rich cobalt blue; the gold work is just beautiful! Excellent condition with wear to the gold line inside the cup. |
