Antique basketwork yellow cane / cream ware teapot. Made by Wedgwood, England, 18th - early 19th century. <P><P> Measures 9 inches from tip of spout to tip of handle and approx 4 inches to top of lid.<P><P> Yellow glaze ceramic body with basketweave mould over most of the surface. A large sheath of wheat, tied with rope forms the finial on the lid. Both spout and handle have raised, moulded acanthus leaf decoration with sheathes of wheat fanning out on the bottom where they join the body of the teapot. <P><P> Impressed Wedgwood mark underneath in capital letters. <P><P> Condition is excellent. No chips/cracks/damage/restoration of any sort. <P><P> Provenance:From an extremely prestigious estate: William Nelson Camp, owner of Florida Power, vast real estate and phosphate mines and good friend of the richest of the rich and powerful. <P><P> |
