TOBY Jug LONG JOHN SILVER Shorter & Son ENGLAND Toby jug, ''Long John Silver'' by Shorter and Son Ltd, England. This Staffordshire jug features the infamous pirate with the peg leg and parrot in a sitting position holding a dagger in one hand and his rifle in the other. The handle of the jug is a skull and crossbones! Colors are vivid and hand painted. Height: 9¾ inches. Circa 1940's. There is allover crazing, otherwise this wonderful piece is in excellent condition!

The colors are bright & carefully hand painted, not splotchy and overdone. The wigged man wears a purple coat and white vest. Height: 3¾ inches. Very good condition ~ as expected, there is overall crazing.
