VICTORIAN Inlaid M. O. PEARL LAP DESK Ca.1825
A Victorian lap desk made of rosewood or coromandel veneer with a Mother-of-Pearl floral inlay on the lid and on the front, around the keyhole. This desk needs some restoration, as there is a crack approximately half way across the top (see close-up photo), and the original red velvet on the desktop is deteriorating and needs replacing. Also, there is missing veneer on the top left edge and the bottom right edge (see photos). There is no key. Even with these faults, this writing desk would make a beautiful display piece.
