Vintage Turtle Box Match Holder
This vintage turtle box was made to be a match holder/striker. This is probably a vintage reproduction of a Victorian example. The old ones were made of brass; this one appears to be painted cast iron. In Victorian times match holders were placed anywhere a match might be needed - near stoves and on tables, but also near all oil lamps.
