Vintage Turtle Box Match Holder This vintage turtle box was made to be a match holder/striker. This is probably a vintage reproduction of a Victorian example. The old ones were made of brass; this one appears to be painted cast iron. In Victorian times match holders were placed anywhere a match might be needed - near stoves and on tables, but also near all oil lamps. Czech Hand Painted Swan Planter This lovely planter depicts a swan with wings up and a long coiled neck. There is plenty of feather detail, and hand painted bill, eyes, and feet. The base is marked "Made in Czechoslovakia" in a circle, along with a stamped '39' and an impressed '50'. There is a repaired nick on the swan's bill (see close-up photo), and minor crazing. This condition is reflected in our price. Height: 4"; length: 5½".

Donkey Burro Planter with Mexican Man This delightful planter depicts a Mexican hombre taking a siesta next to his burro, or donkey. The burro carries a 'basket' on each side. Has a pale blue glaze. Unmarked; vintage. There is a chip on the inside rim which does not show from the front (see close-up photo). Also there is a crack on the other side which runs next to the basket and down under the donkey's belly. This damage is reflected in our price. This planter is a heavy piece and measures 7¼'' long x 6'' high.

Blue Bird on Stump Figurine - Germany This is actually a flower arranger, or frog, with three holes in the stump for flowers. A pretty bird in matte blues, greens, and two shades of brown perches on a tree stump with green foliage and acorns. Marked, ''Germany'' on the base. One wing tip had a tiny glaze nick and has been touched up. Height: 6 inches. Very good condition!

Ducks with Sailor Caps Salt & Pepper Shakers This is a pair of white ducks wearing sailor caps with hand painted accents. One has a decal which reads ''Souvenir of St. Petersburg, FLA.'' The other has a foil sticker, ''Elbee Art Originals /Cleveland, O.'' They both have some paint loss and overall crazing appropriate for their age. Height: 3½'' and 4 3/8''. Their original stoppers have been replaced with new cork stoppers. Circa 1940.
