FIGURAL Porcelain DECANTER Man With HAT STOPPER
This hand painted decanter depicts a European peasant with rosy cheeks and a bushy mustache. His hat is the stopper. When grasped by the man's protruding elbow, the decanter fits the hand perfectly, with the space between the scarf and his hand a gripping point for the thumb. Unmarked, but very well made. Height: 7½ inches; width: 5¾ inches. There is a shallow base chip which does not show when the decanter is at rest. Also, the hat rim had four glaze chips (see close-up photo).
