Josef Originals Mouse Family: Mom, Dad, Twins Josef Originals Mouse Family consists of 3 pieces: Mommy with a red and white apron, Daddy with his green vest and red bow-tie, and the twins nestled in half of a little nut shell. Daddy is 2.5" tall and has a foil Japan sticker. Both Mommy and Daddy have their Mouse Village hang tags, and the twins have their parents’ eyes and ears! When posting, I noticed that the Mommy Mouse is missing the end of her apron bow (in the back) and I’ve included a picture that shows it. Other than that, they are in great shape with no other damage.

Josef Originals or Copy, Cherchez La Femme This Josef Original or copy, Impressed Cherchez LaFemme on the base, is ink stamped 7616 on the bottom. It’s 5" tall and closely resembles "Denise" on page 16 of the Josef Originals, A Second Look, by Jim and Kaye Whitaker. The literal translation of Cherchez La Femme, impressed on the base, is "look for the woman." It expresses the idea that behind a problem in question, there is a woman. That isn’t to say that the woman herself was necessarily the direct cause of the problem, as in Shakespeare’s Macbeth for instance, but that a man has behaved stupidly or out of character in order to inmpress a woman or gain her favor. This charming piece is in great shape, with no chips, cracks or repairs. It has a VERY high gloss, which has made it very hard to photograph. I must apologize for the "white glare spots" in the pictures.

Josef Originals Girl with dog, Little Pet Josef Originals Girl with Dog is from the Little Pet series. It is 4" tall and has the incised Josef mark on the base. On the side of the skirt is the gold and yellow Josef sticker. The black eyes show that she was made in Japan from 1959-1985. She has gold trim, and there are no chips, cracks or other damage. She’s in excellent shape, and she even has a ball in her hand for the puppy to retrieve.
