Josef Originals Music - Shadow of your Smile
Josef Originals Music Box – Shadow of your Smile – is 5" tall. Its Josef sticker has long since disappeared, but their Japan sticker is present on the base. The music box works well, and there are no chips, cracks or repairs. It is in like-new condition, except for a little wear on the bottom of the base, which attests to its age. It dates from the 1960’s.

On the base is the black ink mark Josef Originals, along with the black and gold Japan sticker. She’s free of chips, cracks and repairs. Except for a little wear on the base, she could be listed as mint.

Josef Originals, Scotland, 3.5” made in 1960’s. Has tiny chip on 3rd finger of left hand which you need magnifying glass to see. Other than this no damage. Has good colors, and a sweet face. Josef Originals impressed in base, and Josef Originals sticker on side. Scotland seems to be hard to find. I’ve not seen another.

Here are three Josef Originals Fuzzy Owls- each 2.5" tall. Two have their wings up and open; the third has its wings folded down. Josef Originals or Copy, Cherchez La Femme
This Josef Original or copy, Impressed Cherchez LaFemme on the base, is ink stamped 7616 on the bottom. It’s 5" tall and closely resembles "Denise" on page 16 of the Josef Originals, A Second Look, by Jim and Kaye Whitaker. The literal translation of Cherchez La Femme, impressed on the base, is "look for the woman." It expresses the idea that behind a problem in question, there is a woman. That isn’t to say that the woman herself was necessarily the direct cause of the problem, as in Shakespeare’s Macbeth for instance, but that a man has behaved stupidly or out of character in order to inmpress a woman or gain her favor. This charming piece is in great shape, with no chips, cracks or repairs. It has a VERY high gloss, which has made it very hard to photograph. I must apologize for the "white glare spots" in the pictures.

Josef Originals, Ostrich Family of 5. There are two adults and three babies. One of the babies is just breaking out of his shell. The adults are 5 ¼" tall; the babies are 1 ¾" tall. One adult has the Josef Originals sticker; two babies have the Josef Originals sticker. These were produced around 1960 in Japan. In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or other damage.
