| As stated in Animal Figures, by Mike Schneider, German pink pigs were made around the turn of the century. The unmarked pigs are the oldest, made prior to 1890 when the McKinley Tariff Act required imports to be marked with the country of origin. Those marked "Made IN" were probably produced after the revision of the Act in 1914 This pig is has a smile on his face and perfect ears! There is an 1/8th inch section on the rim that it either a painted chip or a factory flaw. I really can’t say which it is, only that it does not detract from this cutie. Other than this, this excellent example of Old Germany is free of any damage. |
