German Pink Pigs in Purse are 3.5" tall, and each has a delightful expression. Ears are all intact, and there are no chips, cracks or other damage. The purse rim is trimmed in gold, and there is a factory pin prick under the glaze. As usual on these pieces, there is no mark, but this can be nothing other than vintage German Pink Pigs, dating from around 1890. The lack of mark indicates that they were probably exported to the US prior to the enactment of the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890, which required that all imported goods entering the country after March 1, 189l be marked with the name of the county of origin. |
