Rare Victorian Wicker Basket Decorated with Gesso Ribbons,Tassles Flowers
This is a very rare Victorian wicker basket with applied decorative gesso flowers with fancy gesso ribbons and tassles. The basket is large, heavy and very substantial. It is shapely with excellent reed inner support system with a wood bottom. The top and bottom edges are cane wrapped. The weaving is done in a decorative 2 strand pattern. The tassles are on all 4 corners and at the top they each have a decorative gesso rosette and there is detailed gesso cording under the top edge, connecting the rosettes and tassles. The decorative gesso roses and leaves are applied in a circular shape on all 4 sides adorned by large gesso ribbons.
There is extremely minor loss of gesso here and there. There is a painted over label on the bottom. This is an extremely rare and exceptional Victorian wicker basket.

Large Fancy Victorian Gesso Decorated Wicker Tray
This is a rare Victorian wicker tray that is highly decorated with swags of gesso flowers with a beautifully gesso decorated top edge and tray handles. The bottom edge is decorated with gadrooning. The print is original to the piece and is under glass. It has some slight discoloration evident in the photos. The tray retains the original gold paint with some paint loss and age appropriate wear. This piece is in excellent origiional condition. The bottom is nice old worn floral tapestry fabric over wood.

This is a very rare and ornate Victorian vase that has been highly decorated with swags of ribbons and roses. The vase is tall,shapely,heavy and very substantial. This piece is in excellent original condition except for a few small pieces of gesso missing on one side. Wonderful original finish. This is a museum quality piece. Circa 1890's.

This is a rare Victorian wicker trumpet vase with ornate applied gesso throughout. The entire piece is decorated with elaborate intricate detail work. There are very interesting weave pattern changes along with swagged garlands of ribbons, roses, leaves and tassles. There is a glass insert to hold flowers. This beautiful tall Victorian wicker trumpet vase is heavy and substantial. It is in excellent original condition with old gold paint.
