It has an asymetrical design. The crest is a serpentine roll that flows from the arm across the back, tapering and ending in a curlicue. The back is elaborate with ribbons and loop designs and fancy beadwork that gives the piece an oriental look. Victorian wicker pieces that retain their original green and natural finishes are rare and highly collectible. The reeds and beads were dyed prior to weaving. The cane seat is original.
