Circa: 1880's Condition: Excellent Condition Size: Height-36" Seat Height-15 1/2" Width-28" Depth-24" Manufacturer: Attributed to Wakefield Rattan Co. This is a very rare and ornate early Victorian arm chair. It retains the original natural finish with original green trim color. This large and shapely wicker chair has elaborate designs throughout. The serpentine rolled crest ends in double thick curlicues. The back begins with a centered reed heart design flanked by panels of latticework. The serpentine rolled arms roll gracefully down the front of the chair to the brass caps.The back is decorated with elaborate spoolwork and reedwork. The seat is shapely with a set in cane. The front skirting is adorned with curlicues and a woven panel over a cabriole center leg. This is a very rare design attributed to Wakefield Rattan Co. Circa 1880's.
