Medina Flow Blue Platter-J.Furnival c.1845-70
Gorgeous vintage c.1845-70 Flow Blue platter. Marked Medina with initials J.F.& Co.(Jacob Furnival Co.), and an impressed 12. Looks like a Turkish scene with a mosque and an incredible fountain. The border has river and boat scenes. Condition-has crazing but not too dark, utensil marks, 1 edge chip(see detail photo), 1 stress crack at the one end 2 in.long, a few brown marks probably from usage and some factory defects. Size 10 1/2 in.wide x 13 1/2 in.long. It has just the right amount of flow to enjoy the designs. An exceptional piece despite condition problems!
