Vintage c.1920s-30s Art Deco Egyptian Cartouche Vintage c.1920s-30s Art Deco Egyptian cartouche wall decoration, brass with black bakelite. Popular style when King Tut's tomb was originally discovered in the 1920's. No maker's marks. Not a modern reproduction. 10 in.high x 4 in.wide. Brass has lovely natural patina with a few spots of dampness corrosion(see photos)showing a high copper content used in older brass items. Bakelite has some tiny edge fleabite nicks, and some very light scratches, which are not too noticeable. It does have some warping that doesn't detract from its appearance. Has the original cord in excellent condition, no repaints or repairs, all original parts. Clear depression glass removable bottom, has a few flea bite edge chips around the rim and 1 chip on the base. Holds 1 1/2 pints. Great modernist design! An unusual addition to any vintage kitchen!
