Titled Hill's Album of Biography and Art, World's Fair edition (for Chicago 1891). By Thomas E.Hill, published by Danks & Co.. Hardbound, embossed cover. 592 pages. Includes fascinating late Victorian reading of famous people of all disciplines, such as Robert E.Lee and others, dog breeds, and even hot topics of the time such as animal creulty (ie. check reins on horses) and proper behavior of children. Suggests current trends in decorating and exhibits for the Fair. Lots of period illustrations. Condition-normal wear, looks intact except for missing pages 17-18. First section is loose and needs to be reattached, inside of covers are loose at the spine. Normal corner wear, normal age discoloration, front cover has a few scuffs but not too bad. No foxing or water damage. A must for World's fair collectors or anyone interested in the late Victorians!
