Vintage Trinket Box w/Rhinos
Vintage trinket box, wood covered by a thin layer of papier-mache and shellaced. Octagonal shape. Rhinos were hand-drawn in pencil then applied to the box. No signature or maker's marks. Drawing style looks 19th century, but no way of being certain. Bottom and inside are painted black. 3 1/4 in.long x 1 1/2 in.high x 2 1/2 in.wide. Condition-lid fits okay, some damage to shellac layer as visible in photos, a few small cracks but don't seem to affect it structurally, just be careful to keep it from being damaged more. Really unusual and unique piece for box collectors' or wildlife collectors'!Shipping includes delivery confirmation, insurance is optional at buyer's risk.
