Lake George-Hudson River Valley School Pastel c.1830 Vintage, not a reproduction of any kind, c.1830s-50s. Monochrome pastel on heavy rag paper. Hudson River Valley School style, unsigned. Looks like a view of Lake George, NY. Extremely well-done, obviously by a serious artist. Condition- just a few very minor smudges in unobtrusive spots, a few very small surface nicks (see photos), and the back has a glue residue line just around the edges. Paper shows normal aging, but not from acid deterioration. Size 15 1/4 in. high x 19 1/2 in.wide. I bought this at a local estate sale, but no provenance was available.
