Fry Oven Glass Casserole
Bonded Seller with all items guaranteed...offers this rare Fry Oven Glass casserole #27, one quart, 7 1/4 inch diam., 3 inches deep, marked Pat. 5-18-17 and 5-22-19. (We have seen very few pieces of this and none with any other patent date) The beautiful pearl opalescence is wonderful and the thicker lid-knob (which is in excellent condition) is absolutely radiant with color and fire. Fry Glass Co., Rochester, Pa., introduced this in 1916-17. (Co. absorbed 1933 by Libbey Glass but history is that Fry was in trouble before the stock market crash of 1929, so production was probably very limited) Early ads: bakes food evenly, can see when food browned, beautiful on your table, easily cleaned.. This one has its own chromed-metal carrier with 4 little feet and double handles. Overall extremely good condition. Here's a piece of American history! Price is for casserole plus its lid plus the carrier.
