Complete with its own slipcase, the 238-page hardbound book features more than 300 full-color illustrations of 222 species of birds, printed from new color plates.

Included are great color pictures of each bird, along with its range and habitat, size, shape, color, voice, habits, home sanctuaries, and much more! The book is written in simple, concise language so the beginner, as well as the expert, will be able to use it effectively.

This copy is in AS NEW condition with no apparent defects on the book itself and only very slight edge wear on the slip cover. It’s a wonderful guide – according to the publisher, the most popular and most convenient bird guide very published! A nice gift idea! (3277)

Published in March, 1960, by the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union, this is Vole 30, No. 1 of IOWA BIRD LIFE, a 28-page quarterly publication. With information on the organization and its officers on the front, the magazine includes features on Feeder Trouble, the 1959 Christmas Bird Census in Iowa, the organization’s upcoming Spring Convention, a two-page photo-article of coot nesting, and more. General notes cover special events and bird sightings in the state. Membership news and a six-page listing of the Union’s members make up the balance of the publication. It’s packed with information and interesting photos!
