OLD A.B.C. & Co. Perfumed Charm
This neat little metal charm is marked A.B.C. & CO. PERFUMED CHARM and offers a tremendous example of the unique packaging of perfume items during the early 1900s era.
One side of this has the black disk with gold writing (noted above); the reverse is a bright gold filigree floral pattern of metal that encases a purple insert that evidently held the perfume. An eyelet at top enabled the wearer to use this as a charm on bracelet or necklace.
We don’t know the exact age of this one … but by all indications, it was from the very early 1900s.
The metal is in Good condition, overall, with a few spots of discoloration on the ring that holds it together. The side with type shows only two small spots of what appear to be rust. All in all, it’s a great old-timer! (3717)
