Vintage Holiday Cookie or Candy Tin
Here’s a neat all-metal vintage cookie or candy tin with lovely red poinsettia blooms and white candles highlighting the lid. It’s an older one – we don’t know its exact age – but the paint is bright and sharp and without scratches, except for a couple of minor ones on the edge. There’s one very minor dent along bottom edge, but this is not a serious defect. Diameter is 8 inches, depth is 3 inches. No rust, no dings – but a great way to carry homemade cookies or candies to a neighbor!

Vintage Pocket Tin, ASPERLINE Tablets
Here’s a great little pocket tin that held twelve tablets of Laymon’s ASPERLINE, made by Worlds Products, Spencer, Indiana. Probably from the 1950s-60s, this pain-reliever was a popular product!

The tin is empty, but in AS NEW condition with no dents, scratches or other defects! (4406)

Original Tin: SCOTCH Cellophane Tape, 1940s
The familiar tartan pattern appears on the top of this original tin that held 2 rolls, ½ by 2592 inches, of Scotch Brand Cellophane Tape. It was produced by the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co. in St. Paul MN. Patent numbers covering the product are printed on the edge of the lid.

The tin measures 5 inches diameter and 1 ¼ inch deep. It's in Very Good condition with a few minor scratches on bottom and sides; a stray piece of the original tape, now slightly yellowed, is on the lid. Still, a very fine example of the early packaging of an old favorite product! (p1021)

Large Vintage REAL Tin Cans – Never Used! Although many of us grew up calling them ‘Tin Cans,’ most of the containers from the grocery store that hold peas, corn, soup and other everyday foods are actually aluminum, not tin.

Here, however, are two real tin cans – made in the 1940s and never used.

They measure 5.75 inches tall by 3.5 inches diameter. The side seam is soldered and the bottom is attached. However, the top lid has never been sealed into place – it’s loose and ready to add.

A great way to exhibit your favorite vintage food labels … or add a realistic touch to your vintage grocery store products collection.

Condition is AS NEW. Price listed is for two cans and two lids. (5599)

4408
Vintage Pocket Tin, Auto Fuses Made by Auto Products Mfg. Co., St Louis, this tin is full of SFE-20 KILLARK AUTO FUSES. Information on the back notes that if your car lights fail, you should inspect your fuses. If one is blown, insert another. If that one blows, your wiring is defective and you should call a repairman.

The tin is undated, but probably from the 1950s. Condition is Good, although it does have some surface rust on both inside and out. Much of this can probably be removed by cleaning. Six fuses remain inside. Still, it’s a nice addition to a collection of auto memorabilia. (4408)

Vintage Decker Spiced Luncheon Meat Tin
Another vintage luncheon meat tin from just after World War II, this red-and-white painted tin held 6 pounds of DECKER’S SPICED LUNCHEON MEAT, packed by Jacob E. Decker & Sons, Mason City, Iowa.

Unlike many of today’s processed meats, this specifically listed the ingredients: chopped port, pork tongues, pork hearts and the usual preservatives of the time. ‘Ways to Serve’ are listed on the side panel.

The tin measures about 11.75 inches long by 3.5 inches wide by 4.25 inches deep and is in Very Good condition. It has a very few minor scratches on the paint, but these help provide the ‘vintage’ character of the tin and don’t interfere with the readability or beauty. The end where the lid was removed has sharp edges, normal when these were opened with the ‘key’ winders.

Another terrific example of early packaging! (4543)

Decker’s Pressed Boneless Ham Tin Here’s a 1940s tin that held 6 pounds of Decker’s IOWANA BRAND Chopped Pressed Boneless Ham, packed by the Jacob E. Decker & Sons Co., Mason City, Iowa. This has a paper label that’s surprisingly survived the many years of storage!

The tin measures about 11.75 inches long by 4 inches wide by 3.25 inches deep and is in Good+ condition, although it does have some minor surface rust spots and a few scratches. The end where the lid was removed has very sharp edges, as was normal when these were opened with the ‘key’ winder and the inside shows some rust spots, too.

It’s a marvelous example of the packaging of luncheon meats in the World War II era! (4542)
