NOKORODE Soldering Paste Tin
This 2-inch diameter tin held 2 ounces of Nokorode Soldering Paste made by M. W. Dunton Co., Providence RI. It has a 1929 patent date. ‘The most economical soldering flux sold,’ the design printed on the lid is quite elaborate. It has a few minor dents and some light oil, but is in Very Good condition. 1950s FLASH Insect Powder
Here’s the 1940s answer to roaches, water bugs, silverfish, bed bugs and other insects – it’s FLASH INSECT POWDER, an insecticide manufactured by Ash Manufacturing, Des Moines IA. The 3.25 inch high, 2-inch diameter pasteboard tube, with matching blue pasteboard lid, is marked ‘Poison.’
The package and label are in Good condition, with some fading of the print on the label itself, but no apparent defects on the package beyond tearing of the seal to open it. (6294)

1940s-50s Instant Fire Extinguisher
This is an Instant A-Z Fire Extinguisher, produced by the Instant Chemical Corporation, New York and sold in this 2.5 pound size. It was designed to extinguish fires caused by magnesium incendiary bombs, but was also marked as effective for household fires, factory, gasoline fires, natural gas fires, acetylene gas fires, grease and oil fires.
The 2.5-inch diameter, 13-inch tube was advertised as ‘Economical, A dry powder, Safe and Non-injurious! Can’t spoil … Always ready for instant action!’ Instructions for use are printed on the side, as are a list of other fires that can be controlled and how they should be treated.
The tube is made of heavy cardboard, with metal ends. The bottom is contained with tape, and we’re uncertain whether this was used once or if the bottom is missing. Otherwise, it’s in Very Good condition with minor fading and spotting on the printed label. The ends show slight surface rust, but no serious damage. It’s a great addition to your fire extinguisher collection! (6280-2)

Vintage Inner Tube Repair Kit
Here’s a great old timer – it’s a WESTERN AUTO SAFETY GRIP INNER TUBE REPAIR KIT, distributed by Western Auto Supply Co. The container is a tube, 4.25 inches tall by 2 inches diameter.
On the top is a metal scraper to prepare the item being repaired. Complete directions for repairing auto tubes, hot water bottles, boots, garden hose, etc., are printed on the back.
The package is in EXCELLENT condition and a great addition to your vintage auto accessories or packaging collection! (5598)

Krop-Saver Hand Dust Gun
Another applicator for garden chemicals, this 2.5-inch diameter, 11-inch tube held 10 ounces of non-poisonous insecticide for control of many chewing and sucking insects. It was distributed by the Crop-Saver Chemical Co., Chicago. Use instructions and chemical applications are printed on the sides.
The dust gun operates on a pump action, with the container itself designed to provide the pumping action. It’s made of heavy cardboard with metal end caps. The patent number is embossed on bottom, with the manufacturer (R. C. Can Co., St. Louis MO) also listed there.
This is in Very Good condition, with no apparent defects beyond light sunfading of the container. The metal cylinder ends show no apparent defects. (6278)

Standard Oil Garden Dust Gun
What a nifty package design this was! The 10-ounce Standard Oil Co., Chicago, insecticide and fungicide dust gun measures 14.5 inches tall and is 2.25 inches diameter. One simply removed the metal cap and pumped the chemical powder from the tube.
Complete instructions on the chemical and how to use the container are printed on the back. It’s from sometime in the late 1940s to early 1950s and in Very Good condition with only some light aging on the label. The metal cylinder ends show very minor discoloration on the edges. (6277)
