Kasius: New Directions in Social Work
Written to honor the retirement of Philip Klein from the faculty of the New York School of Social Work, NEW DIRECTIONS IN SOCIAL WORK features a large group of contributors whose task was to survey the state of social work from a particular vantage point, then chart the course that the profession should take in following years. It was edited by Cora Kasius and published in 1954 by Harper & Brothers, NY.
Topics covered in the 258-page hardbound book include Guiding Motives in Social Work, Responsibilities of a Socially Oriented Profession, Changing Functions of Voluntary Agencies, Needs and Problems of Medical Care, Financing of Social Welfare, Social Work and Social Reform, Social Work Education, the Nature of Social Work Knowledge, Concepts and Methods in Social Work Research, and the Folklore of Social Work.
Condition of the book is Good+, although it is ex lib with the usual library markings. There are some light scuffs and minor edge/corner/spine end wear to the covers. The front hinge is loose. Inside pages, however, show no apparent defects. (5704)
