Community Involvement, Social Action
Written by Christopher Sower and three of his colleagues from the Michigan State University Department of Sociology and Anthropology, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT is a treatise on the strategy of directed social action.
According to the book’s Foreword, no problem in social science is more important than the linkage between the professionals, who function through various health, educational, agricultural, commercial and other agencies, and bureaucracies in which they are employed or affiliated; and the citizens of all class levels in their respective communities. The book explains the basic principles and how it can be articulated.
The 323-page hardbound book was published in 1957 by The Free Press, Glencoe IL. It is in Good+ condition, although ex lib with the usual library markings. Covers show some minor scuffs and very minor edge/corner/spine end wear. The hinges are broken. Inside pages, however, show no apparent defects. (5711/rM)
