‘Out to rope business for Mayer’s North Street Market,’ the youngest clerk in the store dressed in her cowgirl outfit and sat in front of a pretty Navajo rug for this 1950 calendar. The store closed in 2003, after 65 years in business, and was the last of its kind in the city!
Advertising Groceries, Meats and Vegetables, the calendar features a different page for every month, with recipes and household hints on the back and a pocket on each to hold additional recipes, receipts, etc.
There's even a short pencil on the metal hanger at top and a listing of cooking terms and tables on the back page.
Condition of the calendar is FINE/EXCELLENT, with no defects -- despite its age! A great find for the collector of calendar, grocery store, Marshalltown, and cute kids' items! (6053)
