Circa: 1960 Condition: Very Good Type: Hardbound Publisher: Simon & Schuster Author: Roger Angell, et al Edition: 1 Pages: 260
Called 'A treasury of adventures in gastronomy,' this is the ''Holiday Magazine Book of The World's Fine Food,' published in this 1960 First Printing by Simon and Schuster. This treasury is a perfect complement to your household cookbook.
In addition to the wonderful color photos and fascinating articles are nearly 300 specific and detailed recipes that will delight anyone who enjoys good food. It's also a handbook of gourmet dining in Europe and America with visits to the world's greatest temples of gastronomy: the Pavillon, Galatoire's, the posh places of San Francisco, the world famous restaurants and hidden bistros of France.
Food experts from around the country contribute their expertise on making and eating cheese, bread, American wines, the mysterious truffle and the intricacies of British beer. This will be a lifetime treasure in your kitchen library!
The oversize book is in Very Good condition with only light edge/corner wear and a few scuffs on covers. A previous owner's name is handwritten in the front. The dust jacket is not present. The original slipcase is here, but is split at bottom joint and shows some edge/corner wear. There is light pencil underlining on some articles, but this could be easily removed.
