Circa: 1953 Condition: Very Good Type: Stapled Manufacturer: Cunard White Star Line Pages: 8
This little booklet lists First Class passengers sailing on the M.V. Britannic from New York to Cobh and Liverpool on June 17, 1953. The ship was from the Cunard White Star Line and a pretty color plate of it is tipped-in the front.
The names of each of the cruise's passengers as well as information about the company, the vessel, and the fleet of which it was a member appears also. Names and titles of the ship's officers are shown, too.
A sufficient number of these passenger lists was printed to assure one for every cabin passenger, and the lists were usually distributed soon after the vessel left dock. The lists were not only prized as souvenirs, but proved invaluable in assisting passengers to make acquaintances on the trip. Many passengers wrote their names and home addresses inside so the booklet's owner could contact them once the cruise ended.
The 8-page softcover booklet measures 5.5- by 8.25 inches and is in Very Good condition with only a few chips and light wear on the cover edges/corners. The previous owner's name is hand printed on the front cover. The inside is clean (with several handwritten names/addresses) and the stapled binding is straight and firm. |
