This self-taught artist couple collaborates collectively but also designs individually from time to time. From start to finish, each Peterson design is a labor of love. First, basswood is gathered from the family home and delivered to a neighbor's sawmill where it is logged. Then, the wood is sent to Jenny's father's farm to air dry for a full year before it is carved. “Sometimes it may take two or three months to put a piece together,“ says Jenny. "We'll let it sit for a couple of weeks and we just keep adding to it."
