Renowned outsider and folk artist Cathey Kalista declares as she ages she feels younger "I’m going backward in life" she says. This is one of the reasons she signs her paintings and creations "YEHTAC" Cathey spelled backwards. Cathey’s art is a combination of self taught painter and found objects. Wood gets a new life as a landscape, often depicting row houses from her native Paterson New Jersey.
Cathey is a featured artist in the book "Extraordinary Interpretations: Florida’s
Self-Taught Artists" , by the scholarly agency University Press of Florida.
