This is an unusual knife that appears to be handcrafted. Measures 25.5 in. overall. The hilt is approximately 5.5 x 2 in. The handle is loossely leather wrapped. It has a crudely carved eagle on the handle. The blade is approx. 20.5 in. long and about 2.5 in. wide. I don't know why the blade has holes in it. The wood sheath consists of 4 layers of wood. Best guess it is from the early 1900's or perhaps earlier. Condition is good considering its age. Aacquired from an estate so was unable to obtain more information. |
