This was given as a wedding present from France in the first quarter of the last century. This is a lace doily that is made of absolutely beautiful netted lace with lovely tambour like work embroidery and applique with needle work inserts in silk threads! The design is most elegant with flowing flowers ,the edge having a lovely fine sweeping scallop design.
