| Between 1903 to 1911 in Metuchen, Volkmar operated what was referred to as Volkmar Kilns or Charles Volkmar & Son. His single tiles can sell for hundreds of dollars. Here you can have 48 (12 Square feet of rare antique tile)! These off-white tiles have a fascinating raised geometric design of stars, starbursts and other geometric shapes. I tried photographing them with and without the flash. Unfortunately my camera does not do them justice (I've found that light tiles do not photograph particularly well). The overall effect is stunning. We looked at these tiles from different angles and were amazed at the different looks including a spiderweb effect. On the back they are marked MENLO PARK CERAMIC WORKS J T S. Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance. They are in very good condition with very few nicks and fleabites. Please view our other items. We have a lot of antique tiles and great things (mostly antique) priced to sell. |
