G250

Sue Ellen Fowler Amphora This miniature amphora (1.125 x 2.75 inches) is a beautiful example of the groundbreaking work Sue Ellen Fowler did with multi-colored boro-silicate glass. The stopper is intact, there are no cracks or marring. I took the photos in daylight to fully display the beautiful colors - red, blue, grey-green and grey. The third photo shows the amphora from the opposite side.

G349

Art Glass Egg Glass egg with contemporary art glass marble style spiral ribbon design. 1.375 inches by 2.125 inches. I'm not sure who the artist is, but my parents bought this in 1988 at the Light Opera Gallery. My guess is it was made by someone who specialized in marbles, such as Steven Maslach or Jody Fine, but I have no verification. The ribbon is black with a bluish-violet stripe on one side, and white with red, pale pink and aqua stripes on the other side. It is not signed and does not have a faceted bottom, so it could not be used as a paperweight, but very lovely in a stand.

A649

American Verlys Pine Cone Bowl Smokey Topaz This beautiful Pinecone bowl by Verlys was produced by the American Holophane Co., a division of Holophane France, which produced Verlys glass in that country. This color is called Smokey Topaz, and the bowl has the molded signature in the bottom. It is NOT one of the later Heisey-produced items. It has an etched and polished finish on the outside of the bowl, and the one photo indicates some very minor flea-bites on one "pine needle". A lovely piece in an underrated color.

A579

Mount St. Helens Volcanic Ash Glass Vase The glass of this beautiful little vase is made from the volcanic ash from the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980. It produces a lovely iridescence, as seen in these photos. The bud vase measures 4-1/2" tall x 3-1/4" in diameter. It is marked on the bottom: Mt. St. Helens Glass 1982. In excellent condition, no chips or cracks. Much of the ash has been used in pottery, so there are only so many items in glass from this limited source of material.
