The artwork in this series is inspired by the poems of Alexander Pushkin, and as you can see has a tremendous amount of detail. Numbered and in mint condition, it comes in its original box, and includes English translations of the Russian Certificate of Authenticity and accompanying brochure. General Robert E. Lee plate Outstanding limited edition plate featuring a stained glass center depicting General Robert E. Lee by artist Jack Woodson. Banded by pewter, the plate is 10 inches in diameter. Produced by the US Historical Society in 1983, the image is based on the statue of Robert E. Lee in Richmond, by French sculptor Jean Antoine Mercie. Included are the original presentation box, a clear stand, brochure and certificate of authenticity. Absolutely stunning when placed with light behind it, and in mint condition.

French Plate Commemorating World War I Commemorative plate celebrating the liberation of Alsace Lorraine in 1918, when French soldiers drove out the Germans who had occupied the region for fifty years. Made by Sarreguemines in 1920 or so, it shows a cheerful soldier and a bevy of four mademoiselles with the legend Cerne de tous cotes, je me rends, which translates roughly to Surrounded, I Surrender. The plate is 8.5 inches in diameter and in excellent condition. There are two holes in the back rim to make it easy to hang the plate on a wall. A very rare find.

Goebel Bas-relief plate Mother's Series This delightful handpainted bas-relief design features a mother rabbit and her young. The first issue of Goebel's animal Mother Series, it has the artist's name G (for Gerhard) Bochmann embossed on the lower edge. It was made in what was then West Germany in 1975. It measures 7 1/2", is in mint condition, and comes in its original box.

Royal Copenhagen plate, 1972 Munich Olympics This plate commemorates the Munich Summer Games of 1972, the showcase of Soviet gymnast Olga Korbut and American swimmer Mark Spitz. These games became notorious as live television covered the story of hooded gunmen of the Palestinian faction "Black September" holding Israeli athletes hostage, eventually killing 11 of them during the botched getaway at the airport. This plate was produced for the Games by Royal Copenhagen thirty years ago, and comes with its original box.
